    • YCIS athletes recently had the chance to participate in the YCYW School Games held at the YWIES Tongxiang campus. Over 200 YCYW students from campuses across China – Hong Kong SAR, Beijing, Shanghai, Qingdao, Yantai, Guangzhou, Chongqing, and Tongxiang joined the games. Our athletes demonstrated excellent camaraderie, sportsmanship, and a competitive spirit. YCIS Beijing is committed to offering a variety of athletic events and opportunities, allowing students to compete in various sports, a range of ability levels, and experience a competitive environment that prioritizes friendship.

We have much to celebrate from the games as our student athletes participated in a variety of sports including football, handball, basketball, and volleyball. We are proud to announce that our boys placed 3rd and 4th place in handball. The boys had competed the days prior in other sports, and did not earn top placements, but persevered and finally celebrated with a victory. The boys' football team played exceptionally well, securing the 5th place, playing four games in one day.

Girls’ volleyball excelled in competition, winning all their games. Coaches were impressed with their competitive spirit and teamwork. In addition, the girls' football team placed 4th and the girls' basketball team placed 5th, both displaying great sportsmanship and teamwork.

We offer a big congratulation to our athletes and can’t wait to see you again in action!

Our athletes demonstrated impressive skill development, perseverance, and sportsmanship. We take great pride in their performances. We are thrilled these students had the chance to bond with their coaches and peers, compete, and create memories that will last a lifetime.

Thank you to the YCYW Education Network for creating this incredible event that brought our students together, celebrating sports and friendship.

      What our teachers say:

“Overall, it was a fantastic event, and I am proud of all our students who participated. They showed great determination, teamwork, and sportsmanship, and it was a pleasure to see them bond and grow through this experience,”  Mr Joshua Van Larson said, Head of Physical Education at YCIS Beijing.

Victory is remembered for at most two decades; an act of good sportsmanship is remembered for a lifetime. This is what I hope the athletes learned from this trip. It’s not about winning but making friends and memories. Sport brings people together, despite language or culture. To see the athletes shouting for their teammates, that’s what sport is about,” Ms Nola Brand said, teacher and coach at YCIS Beijing.

      What our athletes say:

“My favorite part of this was doing it altogether with my friends and teammates. I learnt about what it means to have each other’s backs and that when you compete you need to think about things other than winning,” Evelyn W said, Year 8 student.

“It was inspiring to see our Beijing team come together, support each other, and compete with such passion and determination. This collective enthusiasm and support, both from our team and our coaches, made the memories and friendships we formed with other teams during this event even more special and will be cherished for a long time,” Jaydon Khaira Jun C said, Year 9 student.
