On 9th October 2026, we celebrated the significant milestone of Founder's Day. This day marked the 94th anniversary of the Yew Chung Yew Wah (YCYW) Education Network and the 31st year of YCIS Beijing’s educational legacy in Beijing.

More than just a foundation-wide celebration, this was a collective occasion for every student, teacher, and community member. With sport as our bridge and dialogue as our catalyst, we came together to honour our traditions and celebrate our vibrant community spirit.

A landmark moment: the official launch of the educational slogan "Rooted Deep, Reaching Far".

On this special day, Dr Betty Chan, CEO and School Supervisor of YCYW Education Network, articulated the profound meaning behind our new slogan "Rooted Deep, Reaching Far".

Rooted Deep represents building a solid foundation in culture, academics, and character. Reaching Far empowers students to embrace an uncertain world with an open mind and cross-cultural fluency, giving them the courage to shape a better future.

We believe that a strong foundation is the essential launchpad for global impact—the further we reach, the deeper our roots must be. We are honoured to continue stewarding this powerful educational vision.

Global Connection, Shared Glory

This year, YCIS Beijing joined all YCYW campuses worldwide through a live global broadcast. This was more than a cross-regional event; it was a moment for the YCYW family to connect, share our heritage, and celebrate our collective achievements.

Sport: The Heartbeat of our Community

Sport remained the most vibrant highlight of Founder's Day, perfectly showcasing our community’s cohesion. From the classrooms to the sports field, students immersed themselves in a variety of team challenges. Every collaborative move and joyful cheer resonated with the vitality of our school.

Beyond the scores and medals, we are proud to see our students embrace teamwork, perseverance, and fair play, all whilst sharing the joy of the day with their peers.

Honouring Tradition, Creating Lasting Memories

Founder's Day carries the essence of "Rooted Deep, Reaching Far", fostering a profound sense of belonging within every student. From the grand perspective of the global broadcast to the adrenaline-filled moments on the field, every scene has been etched into the collective memory of the YCIS Beijing community.

Standing together to honour our traditions, we shall continue to build a bright future for our community!
