    • Yew Chung International School of Beijing (YCIS Beijing) celebrated another successful Founder’s Day with our sister schools across mainland China, Hong Kong, and the United States on 8 October 2021. Activities were held throughout the day across the Yew Chung Yew Wah Education (YCYW Education) network of schools to commemorate our founder, Madam Tsang Chor-hang while kicking off our 90th anniversary countdown.

YCIS Beijing was no exception, putting on a melange of activities for students to enjoy. Students and staff enjoyed the day as they participated in athletics, relay races and more, building teamwork and collaboration skills. Some year groups joined Yew Wah International Education School of Beijing Yizhuang, our sister school in the city, for other interesting competitions.

The glorious autumnal day began with a special guest appearance – the brand new panda mascot. The campus was also decorated in festive bunting and decked with banners and backdrops.

Apart from a day jam-packed with sports and fun activities, one of the highlights included a ceremony co-hosted by YCIS Hong Kong and YCIS Chongqing that brought all schools under YCYW Education together via live stream from 17 different locations. Dr Betty Chan Po-king, CEO cum School Supervisor, gave an opening address, praising the 89th anniversary as a time in which we rebound from uncertainty and partake in inspiration from our founder, Madam Tsang Chor-hang, to navigate the challenges that lie in our path.

This year’s Founder’s Day kicked off the countdown to YCYW Education’s 90th anniversary. We look forward to the celebration, as well as many more Founder’s Days in years to come.
