    • We are thrilled to announce that YCIS Beijing has been awarded the prestigious Pastoral Care Award at this year's China Schools Awards!

The China Schools Awards (CSA) are organised by the British Chamber of Commerce in China to recognise and celebrate excellence in K12 international education in China. The Pastoral Care Award recognises schools that have demonstrated outstanding efforts in providing world-class pastoral care to its students and broader school community.

This award represents the great efforts of YCYW Education Network, YCIS Beijing School and our parent, teacher and student community. Through our pastoral care provision, we strive to provide a strong foundation built upon relationships and kindness where students thrive. To receive recognition of these efforts is a great privilege that celebrates the dedication, expertise and commitment of our school community.

"YCIS Beijing excels in pastoral care with a dedicated team, comprehensive curriculum, and support services. They prioritize pastoral care through policies, parental engagement, and collaborations. They emphasize personalized support, regular feedback approaches, mental health awareness, anti-bullying measures, and continuous professional development."—China Schools Awards Committee

Our pastoral care practices benefit from our highly trained staff in coaching, safeguarding and wellbeing, our extensive life skills and character education programme and our unwavering commitment to fostering personalized care and positive relationships within our school community. We are immensely proud of our dedicated team, who consistently go above and beyond to provide personalised support and guidance to our students.

Comments from our Western Co-Principal, Ms Shelley Swift: "I would like to thank our staff for all that they do on a daily basis to nurture and guide our students.  I would also like to thank our parent community, for their continued support and positive relationships that are a crucial component of the successful flourishing of our students. Finally, we extend our appreciation to the numerous organisations that we work with that contribute towards our outstanding pastoral provision."

We would also like to extend our wholehearted appreciation to the BritCham for providing a platform to ensure that these conversations happen!

Moving forward, we remain steadfast in our commitment to prioritise exceptional pastoral care and support to our students and the community. Together, we will continue to inspire and empower our students to reach their fullest potential.
