From the first whistle to the final buzzer, the campus was buzzing with energy, great music, and a truly positive atmosphere. It wasn’t just about the scoreboards; it was about the spirit of the game.

Our YCIS U14 Girls delivered an exemplary performance. Throughout the morning, they demonstrated remarkable composure and consistency, securing the top position in their pool.

This momentum carried them through to a highly competitive final, where they finished the tournament as distinguished runners-up. Their success is a direct reflection of their hard work and significant development as a cohesive team over the course of the season.

One of the most unique highlights of the day was something that set YCIS Beijing apart: Our Year 12 Varsity athletes giving back to the programme.

As the only team in the division led by student coaches, our seniors showed incredible leadership. They have worked tirelessly to hone their coaching skills and mentor the younger players, creating a supportive and joyful environment. Visiting coaches and teams were quick to praise this special connection— it was a compelling personification of our senior students inspiring the younger athletes.

Beyond the points scored, this tournament was a "proper team performance." Everyone played their part, supported their teammates, and competed with the resilience and attitude that defines our school.

At YCIS Beijing, we are more than just a school; we are a big family. Seeing our young people love playing sport, playing in the right way, and showing up for one another is what we consider the "real win."

We are immensely proud of our U14 Girls and our student coaches. What a brilliant way to round out the basketball season!

A huge thank you to all the visiting schools, our players, parents and staff who made this day possible. We cannot wait to see you back on the court next year!
