At YCIS Beijing, we believe that education should extend far beyond the classroom walls. We strive to nurture students who are not only academically excellent but also socially responsible leaders and innovators. Central to this mission is the YCIS Beijing Seeds of Hope Annual Fund.

We are thrilled to announce the official launch of our new Outdoor Bouldering Wall, a project made possible through the generous support of the YCIS Beijing Seeds of Hope Annual Fund.

The introduction of this facility represents our deep commitment to holistic education. More than just a vibrant addition to our playground, the wall serves as a dynamic learning tool designed to challenge both body and mind. By blending physical movement with strategic problem-solving, we have created a space where students can cultivate resilience, bravery, and lasting friendships in the great outdoors.

"It is incredibly rewarding to see the YCIS Beijing Seeds of Hope Fund come to life on campus. This bouldering wall is more than just a new facility; it’s a tangible reminder of what we can achieve for our children when we contribute as a community." —Parent
"I love having the new climbing wall right next to our classroom! It’s like a giant puzzle that challenges me to be brave and try new things with my friends every single day."

Thanks to this collaborative partnership between our community and the fund, four significant projects have recently been successfully implemented:

Launched during the YCYW 90th Anniversary Gala in 2023, the YCIS Beijing Seeds of Hope Annual Fund is an annual fundraising initiative run by the Institutional Advancement Office. It provides grants to students and teachers to develop innovative, experimental, and service-oriented projects. The fund aims to enrich the educational experience beyond the standard curriculum—offering opportunities not typically covered by tuition fees.

In October 2024, our Co-Principals, Ms Shelley Swift and Ms Jessica Sun, formalised the application process, inviting student leaders to collaborate with mentors and school heads to turn their visionary ideas into action.

The success of these projects is a testament to the strength of the YCIS Beijing community. As Ms Shelley Swift and Ms Sun explained: "We communicated these opportunities to our entire community. Student leaders presented their visions to the Senior Leadership Team, and the supported projects were shared during our Parent Organisation meetings. It is a transparent and collaborative process that celebrates our shared values."

The Seeds of Hope Fund is proof that at YCIS Beijing, every student has the power to make a meaningful difference.
Your support fuels these student-led initiatives and helps turn their compassionate ideas into real impact. Please contact the Advancement Office via advancement.office@ycyw.cn if you wish to contribute.
