There is no better way to kick off a new academic year than by bringing our YCIS Beijing family together. This past Friday, our campus was transformed into a vibrant hub of energy, music, and laughter for our annual Welcome BBQ.

The Welcome BBQ is a cherished tradition designed to welcome new families into the fold and strengthen the bonds of our returning community. As the aroma of the BBQ filled the air, it served as a "delightful string" connecting us all, allowing everyone to share in the joy of a late summer evening in Beijing. It was a wonderful opportunity for an inclusive and family-friendly celebration that set the tone for the year ahead.

The event was much more than just a feast; it was a showcase of the talent and community generosity that define our school.

• Musical Magic: Our passionate student and teacher musicians treated us to a series of spectacular performances throughout the afternoon. More than just a showcase of talent, they were the true "spark" that lit up the spirits of everyone in attendance!
• Reaching New Heights: A historic highlight of the evening was the Official Launch of our brand-new Bouldering Wall. Made possible by the incredible generosity of the YCIS Beijing Seeds of Hope Fund, this facility is a brilliant testament to what we can achieve when our community comes together.
• Fun for All Ages: The evening truly offered something for everyone—from high-energy activities that kept the children beaming, to relaxed, sunshine-filled conversations on the grass for the adults.

The Heart of Our Community

What makes YCIS Beijing truly special is the authentic connection between parents, students and teachers. It was lovely to catch up with so many families—not just to discuss academics, but to share stories about life in general. This sense of community is what makes our school a true second home for our students and staff alike.
