The last weeks of the lunar year at Yew Chung International School of Beijing were activity-filled and indicative of the positive effect collaboration and hard work have on our community, with students and staff preparing for our Annual Chinese New Year celebrations. One of the biggest Chinese holidays was celebrated at YCIS Beijing with colorful ECE and Primary School performances, and the popular Temple Fair, co-hosted by our Secondary School students, teachers, and our Parent Organization.
Our youngest learners were the ones who kicked off the celebrations with songs and dances wearing traditional outfits. What an outstanding job! To view and download images from their performance, click here.
Primary school Beautiful China Performances were not only focused on the entertainment aspects of Chinese culture, but it was also an opportunity for students to showcase what they learned during their Unit of Study “Tradition and Culture”. The Temple Fair was a brilliant way for students in Secondary to display their creativity, collaboration and character with a multiplicity of activities offered to their younger counterparts. Clad in their traditional Chinese outfits, students enjoyed games, handcraft activities, our school band’s performance and delicacies provided by our School Canteen.
