    • Thursday 18 April was the last day of regular classes for Yew Chung International School of Beijing’s Year 13 students. Following their last day of school, YCIS Beijing’s graduating seniors began their nearly two weeks of study leave before sitting for their final IB exams. To celebrate their time at YCIS Beijing, the Year 13 students ran a special assembly for the whole of the Secondary School. We asked our Head of Secondary, Farah Sun, to share her impressions of the assembly.

The assembly was cleverly scripted to depict the Year 13 students as senior citizens sixty years in the future, who were reflecting on their happy moments at YCIS Beijing. The students were very creative in depicting their characters and describing their future occupations and achievements. There were also funny awards given out describing what each graduating student would likely be remembered for, such as “most likely to solve global warming” and “most likely to stay at YCIS forever!”.

At the end, the graduating class symbolically handed over the role of becoming the new Senior Students to the Year 12 students, and also literally via their wigs! All in all, the assembly was a memorable ending to celebrate the Year 13 students’ time at YCIS Beijing and we wish them all the best with their upcoming finals.
