Last week teachers, families and friends were treated to the Primary Christmas Concerts. In both the Years 1-2 and Years 3-5 Concerts, students put on a spectacular show and it was a pleasure to see all their hard work pay off.
Special appearances from the Primary Choir and Primary Orchestra showcased additional musical talent, and the shows were hosted by students who gave lively introductions to each performance.
As well as being a wonderful way to celebrate the end of term and the start of the festive season, Christmas concerts offer plenty of opportunity for development: memorising lyrics and music is a great mental exercise; performing and presenting in front of an audience builds confidence; and there are great social benefits to performing as part of a choir or orchestra, reinforcing collaboration skills and friendships.
On the same day as the Years 1-2 Concert, our whole school came together in the auditorium for the annual Christmas bazaar. Organised by our Student Leadership team with support from the Parent Organisation, the Christmas Bazaar is a wonderful expression of our school community. Visitors were spoiled for choice with an abundance of homemade food, gifts and activities as well as delicious produce from some of Beijing’s best vendors. Many congratulations to the Student Leadership who put so much work into organising the bazaar this year.
