The hallowed stage of Carnegie Hall in New York represents the pinnacle of classical music, and for YCIS Beijing, the recent solo performance by one of its students is far more than a personal achievement. This serves as a powerful validation of the School’s deep-rooted commitment to Culture and the Arts.
This past summer YCIS Beijing student, Chloe L, was granted the extraordinary privilege of performing a violin solo at the renowned Carnegie Hall. This high-profile opportunity came after her success in the "Golden Classical Music Awards" International Competition, where she was awarded the First Prize.

The decision to participate was influenced by the competition’s association with prestigious institutions like the Central Conservatory of Music and the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music. However, the true significance of Chloe L's triumph lies in its foundation: her entire violin training, from beginner to Carnegie Hall performer, was nurtured within the School’s own Individual Instrumental Instruction Programme (IIIP).

This achievement underscores a core principle of the YCIS Beijing educational philosophy that profound cultural and artistic development is not an external supplement, but an integral part of a holistic education. Chloe L’s dedication, guided by her IIIP instructor, Teacher Chen Ying, is a direct reflection of the supportive and specialised environment fostered by the School. As her parents noted, "every step of her growth is inseparable from the support and cultivation of the School and the IIIP department."

The success of a student like Chloe L is a tangible result of YCIS Beijing's unwavering alignment with Culture and the Arts, which is a declared pillar of the Yew Chung Yew Wah educational mission.
Chloe L's performance at Carnegie Hall—an iconic venue for Western classical music—directly validates the School's ability to develop students who can excel on a global stage. It’s an inspirational story for all YCIS Beijing students, demonstrating that the resources and mentorship within the School are more than sufficient to achieve the pinnacle of artistic accomplishment.

We are committed to encouraging every student to embrace the challenge of pushing their own boundaries and reaching for their own unparalleled experiences in the world of arts and culture.
