    • The Yew Chung International School of Beijing is proud to announce that the school has received an award for exceptional demonstration of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the category Contribution to Charity.

This award recognised the school as the company who has formed best partnership with a local or international charity to deliver a sustainable CSR project in China. The school was selected by a panel of judges from the British and American Chambers of Commerce thanks to the dedicated efforts of the Yew Chung Education Foundation’s Seeds of Hope charity foundation.

Initially founded as an initiative to create Hope Schools in impoverished areas throughout China aimed at providing disenfranchised students with greater educational opportunity, the Seeds of Hope is the charitable umbrella through which YCIS Beijing, and indeed all Yew Chung International Schools across the world, pursue their philanthropic endeavors. The Seeds of Hope also works closely with local Beijing charities, including the New Day Foster Home and Roundabout, to supplement their fundraising efforts with those of the greater YCIS Beijing community.

In the last year, the Seeds of Hope has facilitated a number of charitable efforts, including last year’s Global Community Day, the 2016 Fun(d) Run, and most recently our Parent’s Organization-led Oscars Charity Ball, which raised a whopping 230,000 RMB for the New Day Foster Home.

Currently, the Yew Chung International School of Beijing is involved in two projects that are directed at the Xilian (西联) Primary School in Baoding, Hebei. The school will be conducting widespread fundraisers, including the upcoming Global Community Day, to help Xilian construct its Early Childhood Education facilities, recruit staff for said facilities, and construct football fields on the school campus.

The Seeds of Hope will continue to be the main conduit through which students, staff, and parents organize their charitable projects, providing promotional and organizational support to ensure these projects fulfill their fundraising potential and make the most beneficial impact on their targeted charities or individuals.
