Application Review and Admissions Process

Step 1:

Parents would need to complete the Admissions Application Form. The completed application form together with the required documents can be mailed, emailed or faxed to YCIS Beijing together with the application fee (paid cash at the school or via bank transfer).

Step 2:

Once the Admissions Office has received all these above required materials and application fee, the Application Review Committee will start processing the application documents (document review takes about two working days).

Step 3:

After review of the application documents, part of the application process may include an interview for the parents and the child with the Programmme Co-ordinator and a placement test for all students applying for Year 1 – Year 13 (the placement test includes testing of English language competence). The interview and placement test can be done when the family is in Beijing. For families who are abroad and will not be in Beijing until just before the start date, the Application Review Committee will note this detail when assessing the application.

Step 4:

Once all of this is done, then a decision is made by the Application Review Committee and the parents are informed whether a school placement is offered for their child (this second review takes about two working days). Parents will have ten working days to confirm acceptance of placement by signing the Offer of Acceptance document and paying the Placement Deposit.

Step 5:

Upon acceptance of the Offer of Placement and payment of the Placement Deposit and school fees, a date is then agreed for the child to start school. All school fees need to be received by the school before the student is able to start attending classes.
