Students and Teachers Celebrate Literacy Week at YCIS Beijing
From February 29 to March 4, YCIS Beijing held a week-long Literacy Enrichment programme designed to encourage not just students but also teachers and parents to discover (or perhaps rediscover) the joys of reading. Engaging activities ranged from large-scale charity programmes to simple reading sessions all throughout the week.

Senior Mathematics Students Place in World Top 7%
The results from United Kingdom Mathematics Trust Senior Challenge are in and YCIS Beijing Secondary students once again achieved fantastic results! The UKMT Senior Challenge is an international mathematics competition geared towards Year 11–13 students with over 2000 schools participating and over 100,000 individual students competing globally.
YCIS Beijing IGCSE Recital: Ending Winter on a High Note
On February 24, YCIS Beijing’s IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) Music students once again performed in their annual IGCSE Recital, delighting parents, students and teachers alike. Student Support and Counselling at YCIS Beijing
Student support and counselling has been an essential part of the success of YCIS Beijing’s community for nine years and counting. School Counsellor Ron Drisner joined us to talk about the rewards and challenges of his unique role at the school as well as discuss the beneficial (and free!) Active Parenting workshops he offers to parents of both Primary and Secondary School children.
Homework Buddies Learn the Value of a Helping Hand
Sometimes parents can find it difficult to encourage their children to complete their homework, struggling to find the time, or just being unsure of how to help. To help relieve some of that pressure, a group of compassionate Secondary students at YCIS Beijing volunteer their afternoons to become “homework buddies” for our younger learners. This unique programme has had a visibly positive impact on everyone involved.

From March 11 to 27, Yew Chung International School of Beijing (YCIS Beijing), as the main sponsor of the Bookworm Literary Festival, will invite four professional authors and writers to visit the campus to enrich the learning experiences of our students and to promote the potential of pursuing a career in writing, journalism, and art.
