Senior Mathematics Students Place in World Top 7%
The results from United Kingdom Mathematics Trust Senior Challenge are in and YCIS Beijing Secondary students once again achieved fantastic results! The UKMT Senior Challenge is an international mathematics competition geared towards Year 11–13 students with over 2000 schools participating and over 100,000 individual students competing globally.
YCIS Beijing IGCSE Recital: Ending Winter on a High Note

Homework Buddies Learn the Value of a Helping Hand
Sometimes parents can find it difficult to encourage their children to complete their homework, struggling to find the time, or just being unsure of how to help. To help relieve some of that pressure, a group of compassionate Secondary students at YCIS Beijing volunteer their afternoons to become “homework buddies” for our younger learners. This unique programme has had a visibly positive impact on everyone involved.

Diplomats Offer YCIS Beijing Students Tips and Traits for a Successful Career in Diplomacy
On January 27, Yew Chung International School of Beijing (YCIS Beijing) invited representatives from three different diplomatic entities to speak to Secondary School students as part of the school’s continuing Career Talk series. Representatives included Lisa Heller, the Minister Counsellor of Public Affairs at the United States Embassy, Carmen Cano, Deputy Head of the European Union’s Delegation to China, and Brian Hewson, Political Counsellor of the New Zealand Embassy. Their Q&A session was full of tips for would-be diplomats and some of the most important traits needed to survive and thrive in the challenging world of diplomatic work.

YCIS Beijing U14 Boys Take 2nd in Divisional Volleyball Showdown
On January 16, Yew Chung International School of Beijing’s (YCIS Beijing) U14 Boys Volleyball team competed in a divisional ISAC tournament with five other schools from around the conference. The boys competed hard throughout the day with a short-handed squad of just six athletes, the minimum required to field a full team. Despite this handicap, they managed to beat out the majority of the competition and make it all the way to the finals of the tournament.
