Shedding light on Learning Communities at EARCOS
Between October 31 to November 2, Yew Chung International School of Beijing and other member schools attended the East Asia Regional Council of Schools (EARCOS) annual Leadership Conference in Malaysia. Considered a pioneer in the region, YCIS Beijing was invited, once again, to the conference to shed light on its innovative Learning Community Model and its implementation.
Elf Jr.: Meet the Cast
With shows scheduled for Thursday, 5th and Friday 6th December in the Yew Chung International School of Beijing’s Auditorium, the cast of “Elf Jr”. is rehearsing tirelessly to ensure that a high-quality production is staged for its audience who will consist of teachers, parents, fellow schoolmates as well as members of the wider community.

Hovin Wong: A True YCIS Ambassador
Hovin Wong is a staunch Scorpion. After having joined Yew Chug International School of Beijing at just six years old, his dedication to the network has remained sturdy. Now working as the Alumni Relations Officer at the Yew Chung Education Foundation (YCEF), he is using his experience to connect alumni in the network.
Meet Our Primary School Choir
The YCIS Beijing Primary School Choir was founded just over a year ago and for this relatively brief period of time, the ensemble comprising of 40 Year 3-6 students, has been in existence, they have had an impressive number of performances. From the British Embassy Christmas Bazaar to the Hilton Hotel’s Christmas Lighting Ceremony and our Parent Organisation’s Charity Gala.
YCIS Beijing Students Advocate for Children's Rights
During the months of November and December, Yew Chung International School of Beijing will be going Blue in support of the United Nation Children’s Fund’s (UNICEF) World Children’s Day. Aligning with our school’s recently introduced Life Skills curriculum and the current G100 project, Lower Secondary School students will be raising awareness for Children’s Rights in a form of public service announcements (PSAs) to be launched to our school community on this symbolic day. These PSAs will be in the form of videos, and, after the PSA’s have been launched, students will turn their attention to producing a poster campaign to promote the workshops that they will deliver to upper primary.
Keeping up with University Trends
Yew Chung International School of Beijing hosted its annual University Week between the 21st – 25th October, to give students and parents a comprehensive understanding of the university application process. University Week was an effort by our local University Guidance Officer (UGO), Jonathan Mellen, with support from the Yew Chung Education Foundation’s Regional UGO.
