Founder’s Day, which is on October 9 this year, is a day we commemorate Madam Tsang Chor-hang, the founder of Yew Chung and Yew Wah schools. In 1932, with the mission of “honouring China”, Madam Tsang established a kindergarten in Hong Kong. 25th Anniversary Celebrations: Best Moments
The Yew Chung International School of Beijing (YCIS Beijing) celebrated a landmark 25th anniversary and its Founder’s Day on October 9, 2020. With a sports theme, the Honglingjin Campus hosted athletic, musical and academic events as students and teachers joined in to display their skills. The CeremonyWe kicked off the celebrations with a ceremony which included a live stream to students and staff members across the YCYW network in Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing, Qingdao, Guangzhou, Tongxiang, Yantai, Rizhao, Shenzhen and Silicon Valley in the US. During the live stream, campuses sent their greetings and shared what activities were planned for the day.
Live Concerts, Sport as School Races to a Milestone 25th Anniversary Ribbon
Preparations for a spectacular Founder’s Day as well as YCIS Beijing’s 25th anniversary are hotting up with only two weeks left until the celebrations on Friday, 9 October. The event follows a sports theme. Activities will include making cakes using recycled materials (kindergarten), performances by our Primary and Secondary students, and a number of sports activities.
Yew Chung, where Children Speak and are Heard
YCIS Beijing’s youngest students in classes K2 to K4 have officially begun their third week of the school year. Their teachers are ensuring a safe and seamless return to school, especially for our youngest learners and first-timers. By the look of things many have quickly taken to their new environment thanks to the experience and passion of co-teacher Ayis and newly appointed Early Childhood Education Western and Chinese Coordinators Sinead Earl and Margaret Zhang.
