
Yew Chung International School of Beijing (YCIS Beijing) employs a full time student counsellor who offers a strong support mechanism for students and families. Expatriate families can face cultural shock and other problems related to living in a new environment. Our student counsellor, Mr. Ron Drisner B.Ed. MA, RSW, is fully qualified and experienced in dealing with any emotional problems our students may face. As well as offering one-on-one counselling, YCIS Beijing also offers orientation and regular seminars with titles such as to keep parents informed on how to support their child through the transitions they will face.

Mr. Ron Drisner is from Canada and has a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta and has for the last nine years been a Registered Social Worker with the Alberta College of Social Workers in his home province. He has a Master of Arts in Counselling degree from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, USA and has worked for ten years as a counsellor.
Mr. Drisner runs regular seminars for parents with titles including, “How parents can help their children settle into a new culture” and "The Five Love Languages".
