The Experiencing China programme is an exciting opportunity for Secondary students to gain insights into Chinese culture and history by visiting various regions throughout China.
More than just school trips, Experiencing China trips help to broaden YCIS students' understanding of their host country, and lead to increased cultural respect, while also helping them develop a sense of purpose and perspective in their own lives. As YCIS students study Chinese language in class every day, these real language and cultural experiences are essential to help them apply and reinforce their well-rounded education.
Students in each year level travel to different parts of China. During the 2015-2016 school year, some of the activities that students engaged in around the country included:
- Cycling in Yunnan Province
- Camel riding and archery in Inner Mongolia
- Hiking the famous Huangshan
- Visiting the Terra Cotta Warriors in Xi’an
