The Secondary Education Programme at Yew Chung International School of Beijing (YCIS Beijing) strives to develop a solid academic ability in its students, preparing them for higher education.
Students mature in a vibrant and stimulating environment for learning and social development, enabling them to advance under a strong academic curriculum as well as a wide variety of extracurricular activities.
Designed according to the learning criteria of Key Stages 3 to 5 of the National Curriculum for England, the programme cultivates a positive learning attitude in every student and sharpens the student's critical thinking and learning abilities. Incorporating both Western and Eastern cultures, students experience a truly multicultural learning environment where linguistic skills in both English and Chinese are honed as they develop a deep understanding of and respect for cultural diversity.
At Key Stage 4 (Years 10-11), students prepare for the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) programme, recognised internationally for shaping a student's problem solving, investigative, independent and co-operative working skills. At Key Stage 5 (Years 12-13), students pursue the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme accredited by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO). IGCSE and IB are some of the most recognised qualifications in the world, and gaining an IB Diploma gives students unlimited access to the world's leading universities.
